In December 2018, Siverska Svetlana Mikhailovna, the mother of three-year-old Sophia, addressed the Charitable Foundation "HOLY MOTHER TERESA" with a request to help acquire a stimulating nerve for her daughter. The cost of the vagus nerve stimulator is 725,000.00 (seven hundred twenty-five thousand) hryvnia or $ 25,892.00 (twenty-five thousand eight hundred ninety-two US dollars). Little Sofia Siverska, 03/10/2015 year of birth, lives in the village. Zolotoi Potok, Buchatskiy district of the Ternopil region and in August 2018 was consulted in the Lviv City Children's Clinical Hospital by children's neurosurgeons together with Canadian doctors.
Concilially, it was decided that in order to improve the quality of life of the child and achieve full or partial control over the convulsions, the child needs an urgent operation to install a vagus stimulator. Doctors can perform the operation for free, but the cost of the stimulator itself is very high.
Sophia fell ill for the first time on June 8, 2015 (at three months of age), when the fever rose, after taking antibiotics, turned into cramps for 4 days, and further resuscitation, brain MRI and the result sounded very scary - the struggle for life, it lasted until two weeks in reanimation. Thank God the child lives, but as a result it remains: the child does not sit, does not walk, does not speak, does not take anything in his hands.
Further, long days in the department of neurology, trips around Ukraine to specialists who understand this area. The parents of little Sofiyka finally found in Kiev a physician of the immunologist-neurologist Maltsev D.V. There, little Sophia was treated, but it was very expensive. Monthly treatment was 70-80 thousand hryvnia, this included anticonvulsant, and antiviral, and for the immune system and for feeding the nervous system medications. There the parents treated the child up to a year of time. Later, Svetlana, Sophia’s mother, saw that there was no result as such, consulted with other specialists, then they took the child to a private neurologist for treatment in Lviv.
That is, for three years of illness, the child every day took a lot of drugs, and from the main disease, and also had to give other medicines to rehabilitate the side effects. Now, in order to save the life of Sofia, it is necessary to buy and install a stimulator of the vagus nerve, which should help relieve seizures, and help the child with development. But the price of this stimulator for parents of little Sofiyka living in the Ternopil region in a small urban-type village. The Golden Stream is very large and transcendental - it is 725,000.00 (seven hundred twenty-five thousand) hryvnia or $ 25,892.00 (twenty-five thousand eight hundred ninety-two dollars ). The greatest request and desire of Sophia's parents is that their daughter be healthy.
Sophia's parents thank everyone who can help raise funds for the acquisition of the vagus nerve stimulator. The charitable foundation "HOLY MOTHER TERESA" joins the request of Sofia's parents and asks not to be indifferent and help to acquire a stimulating nerve for the child. After all, other people's children do not exist.
